Come to the Festival!
In February 1965, Rev. Sun Myung Moon came to America for the first time. Having been freed from certain death in a North Korean gulag by U.S. armed forces, he wanted to see the land of his liberators for himself. What he saw—a nation in dire need of reawakening to its God-given purpose—launched a 40-year ministry in America. Rev. Moon and his wife, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, dedicated themselves to empowering American families to build strong communities and a nation that could lead the world back to God.
In Rev. Moon’s groundbreaking speeches, “America is God’s Hope” and “America and God’s Will,” delivered at the Yankee Stadium Rally (June 1, 1976) and the Washington Monument Rally (September 18, 1976), respectively, he declared this warning and hope America: America needs God at its center, and Blessed Marriages and Families are the way we bring God back.
Inspired by Rev. and Mrs. Moon’s vision of an America that is fully invested in leading the world back to God, we are engaged in a concerted effort to share the Marriage Blessing with the entire nation in the years leading up to 2020. This summer marks the 40th anniversary of the Yankee Stadium and Washington Monument Rallies, and we’re putting on two exciting God Bless America Family Festivals this year to commemorate these landmark events and continue the legacy. The first of these will be at Belvedere Estate in Tarrytown, NY on June 5th, and Mother Moon will be there to celebrate with us!
