Summer Road Trip, Anyone?
Looking for an epic summer in 2014? Join us as we on a trans-American road trip to honor Reverend Moon’s search for the soul of this nation during his remarkable prayer tour of 48 states in 1965. He was deeply moved by people who led the way for this country: the determination of the early pilgrims in Massachusetts, the invocation of the Divine in America’s founding principles, and the many great men and women who offered their lives to build and protect this great nation. He came to revive this spirit in the hearts of the American people; not to build a church of a select few, but to reestablish God’s Hope for America as the central resonating force of our country, for the sake of the world.
This summer event recognizes God’s Hope for America to fulfill her unique destiny: to establish peaceful, God centered individuals, families, communities and a nation that can lead other nations towards building one world under God. We will follow the footsteps of Father Moon’s first visit to America in 1965, stopping at the 55 places of prayer, or Holy Grounds, he established and visiting the many classic American sites he loved along the way. The purpose of this road trip is to deepen our sense of joint purpose, in three ways.
Remember.
How do we remember our founding principles, go back to our roots, and appreciate the sacrifices so many have made to build this great country? We will visit many historical sites, such as Washington, D.C., Gettysburg, Philadelphia, Plymouth Rock, Boston and many more. It is a call to remember that God blessed this great nation, and blessed it with a purpose in mind.
Revive.
This is a call to revive the values that made this country the place of God-centered freedom it is today. How can we revive ourselves and others? At each stop of the road trip, Unificationist communities are hosting public events designed to inspire each person to live God’s Hope in their daily lives.
Reimagine.
Reimagining an America fulfilling her God-given destiny to serve the world involves combining all of our efforts to make change in this world. This is the ultimate outcome of this summer adventure: a vision that will last, no matter how long it takes to get there.
Get Involved
America can benefit from the contribution of every individual and their unique talents and gifts. The most successful way to do this is to gather people from all walks of life—young and old, artists and writers and scientists and community leaders and so on, of all religious and spiritual backgrounds and all kinds of dreams and goals—to do their part in inspiring a positive change in their sphere of influence.
